** In 2001, the national HEIA called for nominations from the Divisions for those who had made a significant leadership contribution at a divisional level. The following awards were made at the national conference, Canberra, 2001. After these 2001 leadership awards, it was decided that national leadership awards would honour members for significant leadership at a national level within the Home Economics Institute of Australia Inc. or the field of home economics. Divisional leadership would be recognised by the divisions.
