The Norma Jean Findley Memorial Award is conferred on an HEIA(V) member for ‘significant achievement as a home economist; and /or significant contribution to the profession and field of Home Economics’.
This contribution or achievement may include:
Nominations must address the following criteria:
1. The nominee must be a current HEIA member, affiliated with the Victorian division, including student members and nominated school non-contact members, and all otherwise financial members.
2. The nominee must have made a significant contribution and/achievement as a home economist. Such contribution and/or achievement may include:
3. The contribution and/or achievement of the nominee must be shown to be current that is to have been made in the year of the award, but may include related activities and work during the year prior to the year of the award.
4. The contribution and/or achievement positively promote and further the ideas and principles that underpin the mission, vision and objectives of HEIA.
Nominations will be accepted from a current a financial member, (including student members and nominated school, non-contact members, and all otherwise financial members). The nomination must be supported and signed by a second financial member of HEIA. Nominations can also be made by the Divisional Committee with two Committee members as signatories to nomination.
Nominations must be made on the official HEIA form (link coming) and made by 31 November each year.
It is intended that the Award is presented at HEIA(V)’s World Home Economics Day function the following year.
