Guidelines for leadership award nominations

Nomination

• The nominee must be a current member of HEIA.
• The nomination must be submitted by 2 current members of HEIA.
• The nomination can be completed at any time using the online official HEIA nomination form. The nominations are forwarded to the Executive Member.
• Nominations are confidential to the Executive Member and the Leadership Award Task Group.
• Receipt of nominations will be acknowledged by the Executive Member and passed on to the Council for review at the next Council meeting.
• Council will approve the nomination. 

Selection

• Successful nominees will have demonstrated significant leadership impacting the HEIA, or the field of home economics nationally.

• Leadership is demonstrated in relation to one or more significant project(s), process(es), or event(s). 

• A nominee will have demonstrated leadership within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• The Executive Member is responsible for coordinating activities related to leadership awards.

• The award will be presented at a suitable national occasion or by the division nominating at a function of its choice.
